Here the name of a fifteen year Old village girl, Naina febin, ( the name also familiar to us as ” MULAYUDE TH0ZHI”) Iies significant. She opens the rhythm of bamboo as the tune of Nature to the the Present pathetic destructed environmental goodness with the anklets and drum beats she bossomed from very childhood.
Naina began planting bamboos from 2015. During the one year From her birthday on 28th July 2017 to next birthday she planted 1001 bamboo Plants in various parts of her native state Kerala in India. Riverbanks, public places, cultural centres, school premises. All included the spaces where her bamboo plants are received and protected. These model activities of Naina are well supported by the society. From 2018 August this village singer is confidently working on a project named “mulapacha – Each home a Bamboo”
This young bamboo researcher visits house by house and gives bamboo Plants and awareness classes about bamboo and how bamboos are to be taken care of. She reminds the importance of Bamboos by Preparing ” Bamboo corners” in schools and making bamboo fenses on the flood – affected areas. she finds her fund for these activities from her art performance with her Music band – ” ocha” – The bamboo saints “. As a recognition of her environmental and bamboo Preservation activities Kerala state forest department awarded her “vana Mithra ” in 2019.
She is the Youngest receiver of this state award ever since. Naina Febin got first prize for the reply letter to Sri. Pinaray vijayan, Hon. Kerala Chief minister Seeking novel ideas for 2017 Haritha Keralam project from more than ten thousand letters he received from High School students. Naina febin is a good folklore singer on stage called naadan Pattinte maina and she is interested more in folklores. She freely uses traditional musical instruments of Kerala like “Maram” “Chenda”and ” thudi” .
Naina is a sincere researcher of traditional, cultural, tribal and local Folklores. she visits these folklore groups – collects, learns and present the songs on stages. The milestone is the publication of her book ” Aadithimartha KaalPadukal” in March 20l9 about the very life of these folklore artists. Now its second edition is on the publisher’s desk. From first standard onwards she began her art Journey from action song Malayalam and Arabic, folk dance, Recitation of Malayalam, Arabic poems, folk songs, Mappilappattu, Mohiniyattam, Monoact, drama …..in all these areas she presented herself in youth festivals – from sub – district level to the state level and won prizes. She got A grade in 5 items in 2018 State youth festival. And continued the same in 2019 too. unhealthy competitions of dance items made her fed up and she now tries to make Mohiniyattam in public stages. she represented Palakkad district in state sargotsavam of vidyarangam Kala Sahithyavedi from 2015 to the successive 5 years. All these years she presented folk songs giving the message art has no religion nor caste. She uses art to interact with noble messages to the society apart from the common commercial trends. Naina Febin was born in Pattambi, Koppam, in 2004 to Haneefa and Sabitha teacher (”Ninavu”). Her younger brother is Naaz Chithu. From the very chocolate – toy age she started interacting with the society with her evergreen message ” Bamboo is the Nature and tune of Life “
